Just a thought

The above is a quote I saw on Pinterst (aka fantasy football for girls) that I wanted to share.  If you are on Pinterest, look me up!  http://pinterest.com/siggyspice/

I had all intentions of posting at least every-other day.
Ahhh...those dang intentions, lol!  I have actually been sick this week.  I think it is a combo of my body freaking out a little bit due to sugar/carb withdrawal and kid cooties.
That aside, I feel GREAT!  I have not felt the slightest bit deprived or discouraged.  As soon as it may seem, I do feel less puffy.  I think sugar and carbs attributes a lot of inflammation to my body.
I should be getting my shipment today of Nature's Hallow products and some coconut flour.   I am looking forward to passing along recipes and product reviews soon!

I also wanted to let you know, just so there is no confusion, if you click on my Blogger Profile, it will show 2 blogs, this one and Siggy Spice.  Siggy Spice is my food blog that I started almost 2 years and 25 pounds ago.  While it was incredibly therapeutic for me to do after the passing of my Dad, it wasn't so much to my weight.  I still have several recipes I am going to share on Siggy Spice that are sitting in my queue that were made weeks, if not months, ago.  Once I am through those, Siggy Spice followers are going to start getting the same recipes as you.   I am going to go through the existing Siggy Spice recipes and see what I can re-tweak to fit the low sugar/low carb journey I have begun.  I just didn't want you thinking I was leading some kind of secret double life, HA!

I think if I am feeling up to it, I am going to go see "One For the Money" this weekend...I have read that entire series and love it.  If you plan on seeing it, there is a groupon from the movie studio that lets you go see the movie for $6 a ticket...any time, any theatre.  The deal is set to expire at midnight tonight though I think.
ANYWAY, I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend!

  2. I am so excited about your exuberance for this journey, and cannot wait to see some of those recipes. I am going to try to find some natures hollow today-I see you have it coming in the mail. With your recipe expertise, I want to know what you think about when cooking-would nh jam/honey work measure for measure substitution for brown sugar if the amount involved is say 1 T.? Just a thought and something I think might work in sauce type things. Have a great day.

    1. Hi Deborah!
I am excited for this journey. Every night, I look at my hubby and say "I did it!" So, I tried the Nature's Hallow this morning (Mountain Berry) and oh my stinkin' heck, it is FABULOUS! I am going to order the honey next. By the taste of the jam, I would say it could easily sub in recipes. Since I haven't tried the honey, I am not sure, but if it is anything like the jam, WATCH OUT! LOL! I hope you found some jam...I had to order and found the best price was from netrition.com They had flat $4.95 shipping, which was nice since so many sites up-charge shipping the glass bottles.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by! (((hugs)))

  3. Make the ricotta pancakes from BFC book and top with cream cheese and the mountain berry jam- it's amazing! It feels like such a cheat and it's not! Did you watch the movie this weekend? I took my husband and he even liked it!

    1. Thanks so much for the recipe recommendation. I made some coconut flour pancakes this weekend and couldn't even eat one bite, lol! I didn't get to the movie this weekend...I am STILL sick! This cold is just not budging (((sigh))) Hopefully I will get to it this week. Glad your hubby liked it. I already pre-paid for me and my hubs to go, so he doesn't get much choice, lol!

    2. The texture is a little "wet" on the ricotta pancakes but still super yummy! They are even better left over and reheated in a skillet or the toaster oven- it seems to "dry" them out a little more!
